Open studio hours

Join us for open hours to throw on the wheel with fellow creatives. We are opening the studio for people who are interested in coming to create on their own. If you feel comfortable creating independently, this two hour session is perfect for you. It’s a fun and creative way to spend time with new people, people you already know or simply just create in your own bubble.

You will be able to buy a two-hour pass or show up as a walk-in. However, if you want to make sure that you have a spot, we do recommend that you buy your spot in advance of the open hours. If we do not have enough signed up for the open hours, we may turn down walk-ins.

Each session is two hours long and includes about 15 minutes of cleanup. It is required to take a group or private class before coming to open hours as we want to make sure that you feel safe and comfortable at the wheel.

We think of open hours as a creative activity and a way to disconnect. If you want to keep your piece, and you’re not done with it after the first session, you will need to come for another open session to either trim or paint it. We will finish all pieces with your choice of in house glaze.

We offer a four-pass add-on which allows one person to come at four different times. We expect that you treat our space with respect, follow our guidelines and leave your wheel station the way you found it. We do not have open hours for handbuilding yet, but please send us an email if you are interested in that.

Our open hours are $35 for two hours, and you will get:

  • Access to all equipment and tools

  • Ability to receive occasional help and ask questions

  • $5 for every two pounds of clay

  • Ability to fire your work for 10 cents per cubic inch (we will take measurements and payments at the studio)

    * Note that all open hours do not include storage for your pieces in between sessions, so you need to take everything with you. We will provide a piece of paper/cardboard so you can take it home.

* We reserve the rights to decline pieces that are not suited to get fired.

Please email us at hello@minrostudio.com if you have any questions.
