Weekend Wheel Throwing Workshop with Aleisha of Utility Objects

We’re thrilled to welcome Aleisha of Utility Objects for a special weekend wheel throwing workshop at Minro Studio! Aleisha is not only a talented potter and friend of Minro, but also a celebrated artist who has collaborated with brands like West Elm, Nordstrom, and Food52.

Over the course of two sessions (three hours Saturday + three hours Sunday), you’ll dive into the essentials of wheel throwing: centering, pulling walls, and shaping forms. You’ll also explore trimming techniques and—if time allows—learn the basics of attaching handles. All levels are welcome!

Each participant will create 3–4 pieces, choose a glaze, and leave the rest to us—we’ll fire and glaze your work so it’s food-safe and ready to use or gift.

Workshops are kept intentionally small (just six spots) for a hands-on experience. We require at least four participants to run the workshop, and all participants must be 16+.

Details:

• Includes clay, glaze, and firing (shipping, if needed, will be billed separately).

• Breaks included—bring your own snack or pop down to the café!

• The studio is upstairs so you will need to be able to use the stairs.

• Please note: ceramics are made with the elements of earth, fire, air, and water, and sometimes things don’t turn out as expected. While we do everything we can to ensure your pieces make it through the process, breakage may occur, and we’re unable to provide refunds for missed classes or damages.

• Pieces will be ready for pickup/shipping about 4-6 weeks after the workshop
